1st June 2026 marked an important milestone in strengthening access to justice in Malawi!

With funding from the European Union and UNICEF Malawi, the Paralegal Advisory Service Institute (PASI) officially launched the 44-month Access to Justice Project under the Chilungamo II Programme. The project will be implemented across 26 of Malawi's 28 districts and aims to improve access to justice for poor and vulnerable populations through paralegal services and village mediation.

In this article, we highlight PASI's inception meeting with Village Mediator Trainers in Mangochi District, one of the project districts where village mediation services will be strengthened to promote timely, accessible, and community-based dispute resolution.
